Music Video 1: Different bright colours and the video seems to be set in a school and at the beach and its hot weather. Bright lights and vibrant colours. Jumping around and being girly in the video for choreography. Innocent teenager early 20's. Female gender with a social upper middle class. Many shots of the artist and also of the group.

Music 2: Gangster style for the artists and the video has some bright colours and the cars have different colours being blue, cream etc. Set at the beach as well as driving on the road. Darker colours but the lighting was just right. Image of girls in cars and gangsters running the streets. Lower class working class people and ages of around mid twenties.

Music 3: Dark colours and is pretty dim. Set in some sort of farm house. The choreography was showing the band and them shaking their heads.

In concert and "As live" footage is one style of music video.
Animation is the second style of music video.
Illustrative/Interpretive:

  • An illustrative music video is one which will use the literal lyrics as a basis for the visual. The visuals and the lyrics will have a strong bond.
  • Whereas an interpretive music video encourages the audience of the song, by using narrative which i snot lifted literally from the lyrics, and the bind between the two will not be immediately obvious.
Surrealist: Surrealism is an art movement which aims to break down the boundaries between fantasy, dreams and reality. In music video, this means using bizarre imagery.

Pastiche & Homage: Pastiche or homage is where one media, references another in an affectionate way like a tribute.

Parody: Parody is where one media text imitates another, The key difference is that parody will do it mockingly.
